Raj Fernando’s career achievements
Raj Fernando is a holder of a degree in Economics and History from Beloit College. After graduating, Raj Fernando joined University College London for further studies. Fernando’s career began while in college as a volunteer staff at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. While at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Raj Fernando worked in different positions before being appointed as a board member of the Chicago Trade from 1991 to 2000. However, Raj Fernando left Chicago Trade in 2001 and established his trading firm, Chopper Trading in 2002. While at Chopper Trading, Raj Fernando helped increase the number of staff to over 250. Besides, his efforts helped Chopper Trading trade on world-class stock markets such as:

• ICAP- Broketek
Leveraging his extensive background in leadership, Raj Fernando contributed to the works of the US Commodity Trading Futures Commission. He supported its mission of promoting free, transparent, and regulated transactions in the capital markets. While at a business panel in 2010, Fernando addressed the issue of harmful business practices.
Addressing an audience of shareholders and media personalities at the annual Rosenblatt Global Exchange Leader Convention, Raj Fernando discussed how business stakeholders would partner to improve their industries. In 2015, Raj Fernando sold Chopper Trading to DRW Trading Group, a Chicago-based trading firm. In 2016, Raj Fernando was left without an option than to explore business opportunities. As a result, he established Scoutahead, an internet start-up. Scoutahead develops safe, advanced communication systems to boost business and professional growth and productivity. Currently, Raj Fernando serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of Scoutahead.
Raj Fernando’s philanthropic efforts
Driven by the passion for charity, Raj Fernando supports several philanthropic activities in the U.S. Raj Fernando serves as a board member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, he is a member of the Council of the PAWS Chicago, an organization committed to protecting animals. Besides, Raj Fernando supports various charitable initiatives such as the Clinton Foundation. He also serves on the board of directors for the American Security Project as well as Council of Chicago for Global Affairs.
